Morning Walk

Every morning my BFF Gail and I
walk three miles through the neighborhood.
Eventually it will get too hot, even in the early morning hours,
and we will have to move to the inside track.

I love living here. Even when the temperature
gets into the one-teens, the grass and
all the trees stay green green green.

Watch your step down to the lake . . .
then get ready to get Happy Thighs
as we power back up the hill.

Gail loves these little ducks. She was born in Japan
and she thinks they look Oriental.
We get a lot of visitors here.
Hence, the term
"Snow Birds"

Here in the desert
we like fences.
And fancy gates.

It's the Wild Wild West.
We fence everything in.

Even though our winter flowers
are probably your summer flowers,
we do have things that bloom all summer long.

You've always got to keep looking up
here in the desert . . .
tall, tall palm trees and
blue, blue skies.

So where does this walk lead us to?
Back home!
Where I get my morning cuppa
and sit at my computer and visit with
all my friends.
I must say, you all have enriched my life tremendously.

Today a special friend deeply touched my heart
with her sweet, inspiring post.
So today, our walk ends here:
Java June

Visit her!!!
She is De-Lovely!

What a nice walk!!! I love the desert... Happy thighs sounds wonderful! It is pretty flat here in Miami, and that is why living in Boulder was so wonderfully different for awhile! Thank you for sharing your lovely spirit through your blog...

fences and stone walks, they are comforting to me. I love them all. I would love to walk in a place like this. Our place is very hot. One must walk at 5 AM before the sun is up, alas I might get mugged. Ugh! Big City life!

I could use some happy thighs...
mine are more like flappy thighs ;0!
It looks like your walk takes you past some lovely fences and gates and sweet little birdie friends.
It's been fun, but I gotta run...I'm headed over to Java Junes :).

Happy evening sweet darling Deb!!!

Oh Debra thank you so much. You have been such a wonderful cyber friend. I was running around empting my wallet and didn't visit my friends yesterday.
Good for you getting your exercise like that. I definately need the buddy system to keep me motivated.
Take care my good friend and thanks again for being so sweet.

You are so sweet.

Next time I see him (I feel him hovering) I will tell him that he is a little tiny prick.

Your walk DOES look like Florida a bit! Good for you! I get up at the crack of 5 to walk on the beach with my friend...no hills...but everyday we find gifts from the sea!

About your comment on the driftwood horses...her ability to place every muscle, every sinew is just mind boggling!

Happy day, Girl!

deborah, i am now officially convinced you would make one fine neighbor. i would call you up and say, 'hey, time for coffee?' and then we would talk about how lucky we are and how the sky and the trees and the fences look especially vibrant today.

thanks for a nice stroll...

Thank you for this lovely walk..I don't "run" this fast anymore since I left the art and teaching of dancing but then I do enjoy in a meditative way the outlook and I am really awfully and painfully yealous of you, because I live here below sea-level on the chilly swamp int the north and you are there in this great climat...feel like trading spaces ?
Be well.
