A Wicked Little Tea Party

The day had started nice enough…lovely walk, beautiful blue skies, not a worry in my head.  Until I read The Note

scan0002

A simple little phone message struck terror in my heart. I hadn’t seen the darn rabbit in a week!  Silly me had thought surely since the rabbit was much larger than the Chihuahuas that he would be safely contained in the yard.  I had forgotten about Rabbit Holes and magic doors . . . I began trembling.  What to do?  Oh, you only know the NICE Alice, the sweet little Alice when everything in Wonderland is going her way.  Well.  Alice has a wicked side.  I’ve seen Alice when she’s Angry, and she’s

TEN FEET TALL.

And the pills that mother gives her won’t do anything at all to calm her down.  What to do, what to do?  Head spinning  . . .

cake 1

Yes! A party!  With presents and bribes.  Get her in a good mood before I tell her the tragic little story about losing her rabbit.  And CAKE! Alice does love a good cake.

Cake roses

OOoooooo . . . cake dripping in chocolate with raspberries, boysenberries, and strawberries!  And Roses!

Birdcage 2

Low lighting . . . so she won’t see how nervous I am.

light glow 2

Perhaps a spot of tea will calm Alice down.

bird cage 2

I had just stepped inside to fetch the tea…and there she was!Like magic, out of no where.  More like Black Magic.

New bird cage

“Oh Alice” I said trying to get on her good side.  If she has one that is . . . “I’m LOVIN the new tat!”

“Thank you” Alice purred. “It’s the Serenity Prayer.”

Well it must have been helping, because she was looking pretty serene.

pretty 2

It all seemed to be working for me . . . did that little bird in her hair just say something to me???

pretty 3

I think he said “remember”?!?

Remember what?  Getting nervous again.

amused tea 2

I try to distract Alice with tea.  **heavy sigh of relief**.  She appears to be amused.  But that darn bird keeps chirping, “remember…remember”.

no tea

Remember what?  Alice does not like tea?

 yes wine

Of course.  Alice is twenty-one.  She likes a little wine.  What ever it takes to get her relaxed and to forget about her rabbit…

bored wine 2

Alice starts singing a haunting little tune…ever so softly…I lean in to listen.

glow

“And if you go chasing rabbits, and you know you’re going to fall…”  It sounds vaguely familiar.  And creepy.  Especially considering the news I have to give her.

leg up 2

“Alice?” I say.  “Hmmmm, yes?” she answers dreamily.

bored 2

Again from the bird, “Remember what the dormouse said”.  What?!?!? What did the dormouse say? “Feed your head” he nearly shouted, as if the answer was that obvious.  Oh YES!

strawberry

I offered Alice cake.  She nibbled on the berries.  Oh sure, Alice, I thought to myself . . . no wonder you stay so sleek.  Then I looked the cake over. . . all that whipped cream and chocolate that would be left over for me . . . oh, I was having a lovely vision of me and the cake . . . alone. . .with perhaps a little wine. . . when Alice spoke.nearly giving me a heart attack.

Soooo

SOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooWHERE IS MY RABBIT????

I choked a little on my imaginary cake.

hmm2

“Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm?”

biting2

“You didn’t . . . lose my rabbit, did you?”

again with the bird, SINGING this time,

“And the white knight is talking backwards
And the Red Queen's "Off with her head!"

It’s getting spooky here.

Think quick, think quick!

The presents!

present

Oh! Alice likes!

mirror

Of course she does . . . Alice adores herself.

not bunny 2

I push my luck a little too far in trying to pass this off as her Rabbit.

angry

Bad idea.

attorney

Alice is texting her attorney.

Again with the bird, this time singing something about logic and proportion…

Suddenly, we hear rustling in the bushes.  I am filled with anticipation and fear and oh please let it be her rabbit!

bunny home

Out pops that little white face with the teeny tiny little bunny ears.  I’ll tell you, I have never been so  happy in my life to see that rabbit.  “Off with her head” kept running through my brain, and I was counting my lucky stars.

UNTIL

eating cake

I realized that Alice was feeding that rotten rabbit all the whipped cream off the cake!

Oh well.

All’s well that ends well.

It would have been a week’s worth of Weight Watcher points anyway.

Thank you for joining us in our Wicked Little Tea Party.

Now for the Giveaway!

crystal

Leave me a comment and I will enter your name in the drawing for this little prop from the photo shoot.  Alice will be picking the winning comment from a hat, so remember her wicked side . . .

Deborah You are a clever clever woman. I loved the story. You should put in a book from for Alice to read to her wicked children some day.
BTW Alice is absolutely gorgeous. She looks like a movie star. I'm sooo jealous of that hair! Not the rabitt but the beautiful blonde stuff on Alice's head.
I would love some of that cake did the rabbit leave any? Oh a little wine too.
The pictures and your story were perfect! Wish you lived close- your wicked Alice and my crazy girl could join you and I for a little tea, I mean wine party- now that would be fun.
I'm assuming that the sparkly give- away is magic. If that's the case then I definitely need it.
It was fun. See you later at Vanessa's.

WhY had I never found your site before????
Much too remiss of me to miss such possibilities of delights...Why when I have Rose Red and Snow White as granddaughters, are they so camera shy?? What is wrong with modern day youth? Snow White is a black belt and once was a goth, I'm just agonising over lost opportunities.

Red roses on cakes and black patterned stockings admixed with a few tats make a wonderful feast.
Thinking of Alice's more seedy side, did you think of serving her rabbit stew?

Good Morning Deborah, I am visiting once again, for the other night it was: really...night. It is so curious that these Mad Tea Parties are still going strong! I've yet to clean mine up, so please feel free to follow me back down the rabbit hole to Haute Whimsy before life goes back to mundane!

I stopped by your party on saturday but it was too crowded , you are so popular and your party was so great , so at this time I couldn't say hello to you. So I'm back and I wanted to let you know I had the best time ever. See you next year

My sweet Deborah, I just posted something important that I want you to see. I also wanted to thank you for being my best cyber friend. Now wouldn't you like to be my neighbor? You could move to Michigan and deal with our unpredictable, crazy, bleeeep weather? Last week it was in the nineties and this week 60 and 70. I never know when I get up if I'll be in shorts or a snow suit.
Oopps, sorry about the rambling- I just came to invite you back to my blog for a peek.

Truly wickedly inspired! Love it all (texting the attorney! Ha!). And wine is fine for a Mad Tea Party (who says you have to have tea?)

I am still tea-partying! I am holding a giveaway of my own to keep the party rolling. Please come by and say hi at http://treasures-found.blogspot.com

Enjoy the day!

Deborah you are so sweet and so funny.

I laughed because you reminded me of Ces with that funny broke back mountain line. That is something Ces would say. You two are funny.

By the way, have I beat out the other 150 people and won the crystal yet?

Love Renee xoxo

Talk about Brokeback! Let me explain: They did not fight over me. Let me explain, The first blogger, she is captivating and very funny and very intelligent - she is writing her 5th novel! The second blogger, she was very nice but she loved in a Brokeback Mountain sort of way, yes hahahah!I did not know it then yet. Anyway, I had to tell No.2 that she cannot be a part of my life. I told No.1 recently why I stopped visiting and then apologized to her. She told me she understood and she was very gracious and said I did not need to apologize and she still visits my blog though she does not comment anymore. No.2 she started visiting you recently :) hahaha!
