Artisan Festival at Fountain Hills

100_2146

Saturday was a perfect day in the desert with just the right amount of clouds and sun, as we headed out to the

Fountain Hills Artisan Festival.

100_2131

Right there in the parking lot we ran into this handsome fellow made completely out of junk!  His tail is made from a bumper from a car.

100_2129

Good conformation!

100_2132

Sweetest Face!

100_2133

  Hooves of a working horse.

100_2134Yep, that’s an old washing machine smack dab in the middle of Mr. Horse.

100_2136Those who chose to live in Fountain Hills don’t mind a rattlesnake or coyote in the yard.  Which is why I live in The Valley within the safety of the farming community;

Chihuahuas would make a nice morning snack!

100_2137

There must have been hundreds of artisans set up along winding, twisting paths, treasures laid out beneath colorful umbrellas.  Funny how they frown upon taking photos of their work!  Guess they were not aware of my complete lack of artistic talent and inability to copy their lovely work.

100_2144This little guy didn’t seem to mind my camera at all.

100_2135It was a delightful day in the just warm enough desert sun.  Plenty of food and beverage choices.  Just in case that witch from Weight Watcher’s On Line is reading, I had the stir fry veggie plate!

And a beer. . . . Ooops!

100_2140

Every thirty minutes we were treated to the amazing site of the fountain rising from the desert.

The Perfect Day.

That is one very cool horse! And we all need to indulge ourselves every once in a while, don't we? I certainly do! Pleased that you had the perfect day, and here's to wishing you the perfect week. XO

My gosh! I can't get over the horse (or the bedpan in the horse...no...I wouldn't miss that!) and the detail and beauty of the diverse elements brought together!
The photos of the area are like going on a mini-vacation. I was only through Arizona once and thought it was a most fascinating landscape....maybe before I keel over, I'll make it there again.
And hey, beer is good for your digestion, and to quote Ben Franklin, "Beer is proof that God wants us to be happy!"
Who could argue that? ;)

XXOO!!

WHy he's even got a bed pan too! But you are right. Beautiful muscles, flared nostrils.I'd say he looks like he's ready to race at Santa Anita.

Oh Darling Deb...I have an award for you...this one's easy.

How amazing! I love repurposed junK! I'm glad the witch from weight watchers doesn't live here because I'm eating greasy potato skins for breakfast...Bad, bad Junie! Sounds like the perfect day to me and the little dog and his derby hat is priceless. BTW I couldn't live in rattle snake counrty, gardner snakes send me running for the house. We have coyotes but I've only seen one in the 6 years I've lived here.
Enjoy your day!

Sounds so awesome Debra. The horse is beyond amazing.

p.s. I am filling out two prescriptions for the doctors. One is 'get lost' and the other is 'piss-off'.

Renee said...

Now they totally don't deserve a fuck off, because they are paying you to work, however, a piss off I am busy with my friends for five minutes is totally called for.

Has your headache gone?

Oh yeah! No turkey? My husband thought we should buy the turkey on Sunday. I told him NO, today! I am on call until 8AM on Thanksgiving day. I hope all will be quiet. I have a house to dust and tidy up! It's a lot of work. It would be nice to eat at the dining table for a change. Hugs, Kisses and more hugs! Oh Short term memory loss. I need to review how to make hearts again in the meantime, I love you!

The bell around the little deerie's neck is an alarm- he's wired! Tee, he
I don't have my turkey yet either. I'll start working on Thanksgiving plans around Monday or Tuesday. I'm a bad girl...so much to do but I choose the fun stuff first. I don't wanna work eihter-it's very over rated!

Deb - what a beautiful place you live in. :) I love those desert skies. I grew up in the Mojave Desert in CA. :) And that horse is incredible! I expect he trots around the place when it's dark, don't you? :) Sounds like a lovely day - I am more relaxed just reading about it. xo Pam

Well, I was going to say "Thank you" for the sweet Halloween gift, but after seeing the Junk Horse, I almost forgot what I was going to say! That is amazing! I LOVE it!! And the little dog too...sounds like something from Wizard of Oz.
Anywho, yes, Thank You. Mr Pumpkin is feeling very much at home in his new surroundings. He wants to blow you a kiss and say "Ciao!". (He's not much on words, just smiles a lot).
