Elf on the Shelf

100_2217

There is an Elf in my house...

His name is Paul.

He appears on December 1st.

The "CHILDREN" are not allowed to touch him, or he will lose his MAGIC POWERS.

They may whisper to him and tell him of their Christmas longings...BUT first they have to FIND HIM. For every night, when they are fast asleep, tucked in their warm little beds, Paul flies back to the North Pole to report to Santa...

And when he returns, he finds a new spot to SPY on the children from...

When SPC Ryan was home two Christmases ago, he saw Paul on TV, and even though he was 21 at that time, being my well-trained child, he ran to me to tell me about the Elf on the Shelf. We promptly GOOGLED the little Elf. Where was PAUL when I had little ones??? Think of the hours that could have been peacefully filled.

I found Paul at the local Hallmark Store...or you can find him here.

I love the Elf on a Shelf. The grands will as well.
Hey, looks like MeowMeow went to the same place to purchase the evil glows red or green contact lens store for kitties as my Sunny J. Bunnifer. Sunny J loves this time of year when he does his best Dr. Destructor imitation. MeowMeow is sooooooooooo cute.

Oh Deborah! I love you! I love that you have traditions. We have the pickle tradition. Every year I hang a pickle ornament on the tree. When the kids were tiny, the pickle was hung in the lower parts of the tree, always at eye level and the kids had the hardest time finding it. It is green so it is hard to find. Whoever finds it gets a special present. We also have a Candle Christmas Tree that holds birthday cake sized candles. We light the candles and the candle that burns last get a special surprise. I love Christmas traditions. HOWEVER, you won’t like what I am going to sat next. You might say I am kitschy and cheap but I have been dreaming og finding plastic fruits and rubbery type grapes so I can hang them on the tree. WHY? Because when we were children, my younger sister and I had plastic fruits for play and one night while decorating the tree we hang the fruits and our Mother let us. Every year we did it and it became part of our decorating activities. I want my own fruits. I want lemon, orange, apple, banana and grapes. I think I know where to get them too. I must have them this year, no one is going to stop me.

I like Paul the Elf. He looks cute and he looks like a lot of fun. He does not look wicked. He is a good elf. I am so glad you love Christmas. It makes me feel so young.

Oh that kitty! I hope he leaves the tree alone.

Oh how we needed a Paul!!! He would have had to stay in my little brothers room the entire month because little brother was always naughty. I think meow meow has her eye on Paul and doesn't know what to think of him. Maybe Paul needs to keep his eye on meow meow, even if she is looking all sweet and innocent under the tree ;-).

Happy Tuesday lovely Deb
