One More for Renee

Thank You for Giving to The Lord
Music & Lyrics by Ray Boltz

I dreamed I went to Heaven, you were there with me.
We walked upon the streets of gold beside the Crystal Sea.
We heard the angels singing, then someone called your name.
You turned and saw this young man,
and he was smiling as he came.
He said, "Friend you may not know me now," and then he said, "But wait -
You used to teach my Sunday School, when I was only eight.
And every week you would say a prayer before the class would start.
And one day when you said that prayer,
I asked Jesus in my heart."

Thank you for giving to the Lord,
I am a life that was changed.
Thank you for giving to the Lord,
I am so glad you gave.

Then another man stood before you, he said "Remember the time,
A missionary came to your church, His pictures made you cry.
You didn't have much money but you gave it anyway.
Jesus took that gift you gave
And that's why I'm in Heaven today"
One by one they came, far as your eyes could see.
Each life somehow touched by your generosity.
Little things that you had done, sacrifices that you made,
They were unnoticed on this earth
In Heaven now proclaimed.

And I know up in Heaven you're not supposed to cry
But I am almost sure there were tears in your eyes
As Jesus took your hand and you stood before the Lord
He said "My child look around you,Great is your reward."

Thank you for giving to the Lord,
I am a life that was changed.
Thank you for giving to the Lord,
I am so glad you gave.

I had wanted to post this for Renee when she passed, but I could not remember the song.  This morning I woke up singing it.

Renee, I am a life that was changed.

She would love this, Deb. I am sure the doors to Heaven flew open and Renee waltzed right on in. She was very steadfast, our girl. I have been thinking about her so much this week - especially this week. :) love to you xoxox Pam

And so am I. Thank you for posting this. I've never heard the song, but it perfectly describes Renee's generous gifts. The book she sent to me is sitting on our coffee table...a token of the warmth and love she poured into my life in the short time I was blessed to know her.
Thank you for your kind comment on my blog. I'm glad you came to visit.
Blessings to you.

I know this is almost two years late. I'm not feeling well tonight; and thought I needed to connect with my roots; Renee being my Aunt; was my inspiration tonight as I miss her so dearly.. Thank you for helping me keep her memory alive.

Dearest Taylor, Maybe one day you will find that I answered you. How blessed you are to be a niece of Renee's. You know she still guides you; I feel her at my darkest times. Long before she entered eternity, I told her that I was going to miss her so much, and Renee replied, "I will always be with you". I cannot begin to imagine how you and The Family feel, losing so many, so quickly. I offer to you what Renee did to every soul that she encountered on her blog; I offer you all my love, Deb
