Greeting! Hello! Hi! Hola! Bonjour!

100_3951

Please excuse my absence . . . I’ve been busy Christmassing!  Sunday we spent a beautiful day at the Mill Avenue Art Festival near ASU.

100_3952For those of you in snowy conditions, I will reframe from revealing the temperature.  Let’s just say it was sunny blue blue blue.

100_3935 There were interesting people to meet,

100_3959 yet I found myself fascinated with the local architecture

100_3948and contrast.

100_3945   **sigh**  I need a bunny.

100_3943 A big, giant bunny.

100_3954 And one of these in my yard.

100_3938Oh, I most definitely need this!

100_3962  Sunken entries and inverted buildings,

100_3949And lot of sparkling glass.

100_3957Interesting signs,

100_3958   Signs from my era,

100_3940 and more shiny glass and angles.

A Mountain.

No, really, A Mountain!

The Tempe Normal School class of 1918 was responsible for installing the first letter on Tempe Butte. When the school changed its name to Tempe State Teachers College in 1925, students retained one side of the "N" to form the stem of the "T."

The school changed its name to Arizona State Teachers College, and in 1938, the letter "A" was installed on the butte. In 1952, a bomb blast destroyed the letter. The present "A" stands 60 feet tall and was built of reinforced steel and concrete in 1955.

Guarding the "A"
Each year, during the week leading up to the ASU vs. UofA football game, the Student Alumni Association coordinates the guarding of our beloved gold "A" from being painted by UofA students.

100_3967

Oh my, he IS handsome in red.

So now ya know!

About Sunday.

Saturday is another story for another day!

I hope to catch up with all of my beloveds this week.

**blows kisses**

Look at that sky! We have had cold, wind, cold, cold, cold. Even that giant bunny (who I would lovingly name Harvey) would be freezing his little cotton tail off! ANYWAY, enough whining, I am glad you had fun! Merry Christmassing to you! xox Pam

I cannot believe the size of that bunny....
Christmassing is fun, too. You've been a busy girl.
It's nice to have you back.

Please tell me that bunny was made of solid chocolate. Not the cheap hollow kind. Solid.

That 'Be afraid' sign is awesome!!!

I'll arm-wrestle you for that fab bunny! - AND I'm totally grooving to the hippie signs (testaments to my misspent youth!)

Looks like a really wonderful day!

If that giant bunny is made of chocolate, I think it will be a pool of chocolate in the hot desert sun!

Well of COURSE being a bunny fan I dig the giant hare, but i gotta say...some of those signs are TOTALLY GROOVY!!!

I wanna be a hippie gypsy...and happy, healthy, and hor-

hor-horticulturally appropriate.

And High...ly acclaimed. Yes. Highly acclaimed.

(Whew)

You take great pics!

LOVES YA!
