Let’s Hop a Plane

001
“I don’t want to do this anymore,” I whispered.
Let’s just hop a plane and skip this whole dying thing.
There’s snow at Sunrise,
Or how about Purgatory,
With all those wide open runs?
No moguls, Baby,
Just the rhythm of our skis
Cutting into powder, an almost silent
Swish swish swish.
We move as one,
As if we have been dancing together
Our entire life.
Oh wait; we have.
I’ll follow in your tracks.
It was always you
Who made me brave.
As unsure as I am
About taking the lead,
I would gladly trade your suffering
For setting you free.
Godspeed, my Beloved,
Godspeed.

it is so incredibly hard to sit and wait, while one is dying. I called it the dance of death as someday's the ill person is reasonably ok, then the next day it is a dive downward. Just continue to be strong if you can, reach out to others around you and remember even though your loved one is ill and might be sleeping they can still here every word. So as time moves forward keep words quiet and positive.

When my parents died it was so easy... they were older, they were 'done' in my mind. But my sister, she was angry, she fought so long to live. Her death was hard work. I will always remember thinking that. I hope your love passes soon, so that he does not have to work so hard.

Oh Deb. Your Brawny man is so blessed to have you. It's been so hard on both of you but now it's hardest on you because you are always fully present. You are teaching us all about love and giving and heart and compassion. And mostly about love. xo

These words are magnificent. By that I mean you have written the finest poetry--an arrow to the heart of what life and love and death is, how it feels, how it unfolds

I love you, deb. I think you are a remarkable woman. And I am sorry for you and sorry for the loss of a wonderful man

You will be alright.

Love
kj
