Slowing Down

I know what it means to reach the age
Where one “slows down”.
When I was younger
I had always thought
“How sad…she/he is slowing down”
But NOT – it’s a choice!

I CHOOSE to slow down,
To live in the moment.
To hold onto this moment
Even as it is slipping away,
Knowing in my very soul
How much this one moment matters.

It is a holy, spiritual event
To slow down and feel God.
I’m certain He is always there,
Just waiting for us to stop
Buzzing around like little bees.

No more multitasking.

The rule in my Blue Garden is
“Walk softly, and lift your heart to God”.

Deborah, I hope that you don't mind me commenting on your blog. I just found you on C-Jane's and had to let you know how much I appreciate your perspective on life. I love finding women who have survived and thrived mothering small children and have come out of it improved and shining. I look forward to one day waking up with grown children feeling proud, satisfied, and happy. You emulate that and I appreciate it.
