Dear SPC Ryan

ranks_insignia_spc

Congratulations on another well-earned early promotion, Specialist Ryan!!!

Surely you can hear the sound of my heart pounding with pride

all the way over there in Iraq.

i carry your heart by e.e. cummings

i carry your heart with me (i carry it in
my heart) i am never without it (anywhere
i go you go, my dear; and whatever is done
by only me is your doing, my darling)i fear
no fate (for you are my fate, my sweet) i want
no world (for beautiful you are my world, my true)
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you
here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows
higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart
i carry your heart (i carry it in my heart)

How proud you must be ... and how you must miss him! Mothering is a tough gig.

Congratulations to this young man, and my heartfelt thanks for his service to our country. Bless him.

And the comment above mine -- She has a sideBRA? Wow... I have only FRONT bras. (Sorry, couldn't help giggling at the typo.)

deb, to tell you the truth, i've been waiting for pfc ryan's promotion. he's now a specialist and he deserves it totally! (E-4--is that right?).

you might remember i worked in an army education center overseas and it was one of the most important experiences of my life.

do you mind if i put spf ryan's insignia on my sidebar, because i am going to anyway unless you tell me to take it down. i think of you and your son almost every day and i pray deeply that you will be hovering over him soon.

meanwhile, it's weekend time. enjoy!

xxoo

dearest deb, go ahead--laugh your head off. look at me up there and laugh so hard you have to leave the room. then, when i put that mike down and come up for air, give me a small hug and blow ME one of your famous kisses and then okay, go ahead and laugh all over again. you won't be laughing alone by then. HAHAHAHAHA! thanks for checking on my welfare. i'm still upright and breathing nicely. you too, i presume? xoxox
