Doors

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA          Image found HERE

Doors.

Some lead in

Some lead out.

Some lead nowhere at all.

I stand at a door

I see in my mind’s eye

Heavy rotted wood

Barely hanging on the frame, ajar

The knob drops off in my hand

As the door flies open

I find myself standing at the

Edge of the world,

A bottomless chasm

Filled with colors and beauty,

And endless possibilities.

I am dizzy,

Not from fear.

Heart pounding in my chest,

Giddy as a school girl

At her first dance,

I do not jump,

I Leap.

And

I

Fly.

I always find old doors interesting...putting words with them makes it all the more enticing.

I hope your flying doesn't lead to toppling then tumbling and somersaulting for that would be the road to humiliation. Or would it be the downward spiral to humiliation. oh dear, I'm laughing. Tis true about humiliation, but you my Dear shall soar like the Eagles.
Oh, and by the way, I love your doors...let's see...I'll choose #5.

Deb! I heart your poems. Big pink puffy hearts with rhinestones and glitter. I will jump, too. Try not to bump into me, okay? xoxox!

love this. Windows, doors, they are hope.

thanks for your comment love, Deb. I have a Nikon D40, and one extra zoom lens. I usually have it on auto because I am not a tech person at all. But I love tweeking a bit in the picnik app on google.

Once again, thank you. You are so sweet. And it was a good birthday (this past Sunday actually), but as the youngest of five, no one was around for big chunks of the day and she found it so lonely. Isn't perspective funny?

Hello Deb.
I couldn't stand it any longer. I had to rush over here and meet this incredible woman who I see everywhere on blogs. You write the nicest comments and it is impossible to miss how much you are loved by so many. I was thinking how foolish it would be for me to not get to know such a person. Ces asked me once if I know you. I hope in time, I will.
Your blog is beautiful and your poetry is soothing and inspiring, Deb.
Oh, and, you are the owner of Milo - yes? You have sent him on a trip that has brought much laughter and joy to many. I have loved reading about his travels. Thanks, Deb.
I am going to follow you and I look forward to getting to know the Deb who is so loved.

Oooh, those last words really grabbed me! LEAP and FLY! Yesssss. Make sure you have a good parachute, though.

I LOVE doors. Doors and windows. On my one and only brief trip to London, I think I took more pictures of doors than anything else.

hmmm I think of beetlejuice and that damn sand worm. Once you jump it's hard to find the door again. And that's precisely why I, too, jump and fly. ~rick

this rotted wood door barely hanging opens to a world of color and beauty....

and the narrator is not afraid of falling because she knows she can fly.

if i were madame kj reading your future, i'd say your wings are in place and you will be astonished.

when you put your words into a poetic form, deb, i feel like you open your heart....
