My Religion

Give me rules, I will break them
Show me lines, I will cross them
I need more than a truth to believe
I need a truth that lives, moves, and breathes
To sweep me off my feet

Its gotta be
More like falling in love
Than something to believe in
More like losing my heart
Than giving my allegiance
Caught up, called out
Come take a look at me now
Its like I'm falling, Ohhhh
Its like I'm falling in love

Give me words, I'll misuse them
Obligations, I'll misplace them
Cuz all religion ever made of me
Was just a sinner with a stone tied to my feet
It never set me free

Its gotta be
More like falling in love
Than something to believe in
More like losing my heart
Than giving my allegiance
Caught up, called out
Come take a look at me now
Its like I'm falling
Its like I'm falling in love

Love, Love
Deeper and deeper
It was love that made me a believer
In more than a name, a faith, a creed
Falling in love with Jesus brought the change in me

Its gotta be
More like falling in love
Than something to believe in
More like losing my heart
Than giving my allegiance
Caught up, called out
Come take a look at me now
Its like I'm falling, Ohhhh
Its like I'm falling

Raised Roman Catholic, married Southern Baptist, went our way and finally found the United Methodists (the forward thinking ones!).
I would say we have broken rules and ended up in the perfect place!
And yes, I still read all different theological books, to learn what the rest of the worl believes....
In al of us, there is a spirit, but in some of us, there is the Spirit.

TSUP!
XXOO!!

Ooh lovely lyrics. I've never heard of this guy before but me thinks I need to get over to the bookstore and buy one of his CD's.

Cradle Catholic here - Many years ago, I asked a priest just exactly how we are supposed to lead a good life. He simply said "The most important thing you can do during your life is to be kind to others." I believe he was a wise man.
I think there are too many rules in every aspect of our lives. We need to get back to simplicity.
Nice song, Deb.
